Invited by the Ministry of Mines and Energy of Columbia and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Dr.Huang Shengchu, General Director of the China Coal Strategic Research Center (SSCR), leda group of 4 delegates from the CCSR and the China Coal Information Institute to take part in the GMI Coal Subcommittee Meeting inBogota and to visit the USEPA and the World Bank/GEF in Washington DC from the 2nd to 5th June, 2015.
In Bogota, delegatesattended the GMI Coal Subcommittee meeting on 3rd June.As co-chair of the Coal Subcommittee, General Director Huang Shengchu made an opening remarks and a presentation on country updates at the meeting. Delegatesalso participated in the CBM high level workshop at the National Hydrocarbon Agency in Bogota on 4th June. During the meetings, the delegates discussed potential cooperation in the areas of CBM and coal sectors with other participants from related companies and governmental departments.
In Washington,delegationmet with officials from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the World Bank/GEF on 5th June, learned the policies and financial support with priorities of the agents, and discussed the outcomes of related projects and further cooperation among the parties, in particular, with regards to application for the project on Zero Emissions in coal mines of the Shaanxi Coal and Chemicals Co. Group and other potential projects in coal and environmental sectors in China and other Asian Countries in connection with the Silk Road Economic Belt and Maritime Silk Road initiated by Chinese government.
